Kelce, who has been seen in the audience at all three nights of Swift’s London concerts so far, took the stage to cheers as Swift transitioned from “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” to the next song on the set list, “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”
At other Eras Tour shows, it’s usually Swift’s backup dancers who take her to the floor after the breakup anthem “The Tortured Poets Department.”
This time, it was Kelce — dressed in a hat and tails like Swift’s two other dancers — who carried her to a couch to get ready for the next song, to perform nightly while dealing with heartbreak.
“‘So Long London’ should have been titled, ‘I’m really taking London,'” TikToker Jake Deyton posted in a video, referring to the 2024 song which is an apparent reference to her split last year with British actor Joe Alwyn after for over six years together.
Swift reportedly lived in London with Alwyn, who fans have long speculated was also the inspiration for the love song “London Boy” on her 2019 album.
The skit only lasted a minute, but Swifties were, predictably, delighted. Videos and live streams of Kelce’s cameo were met with loud cheers in the audience.
“That’s one way to start off a relationship rough,” one fan He wrote.
“TRAVIS KELCE HIS ERA HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN,” one video was captioned. “IF HE DOESN’T SUPPORT YOU ON THIS LEVEL YOU NEED TO GO LADIES!!” read a comment below.
On stage, Kelce dusted Swift’s nose and told her to smile before the next act.
On social media, fans crowdsourced different angles of Kelce’s cameo and speculated about how it came about.
Some famous that Kelce was wearing what appeared to be a custom-made uniform and red-soled shoes, suggesting his surprise was pre-planned.
One joked that Kelce, having been to several Eras Tour concerts as Swift’s friend, was now itching to be a part of the show. (Swift also attended several Chiefs games during the most recent NFL season, including the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, where she flew after playing an Eras Tour show in Tokyo.)
Swift has addressed her relationship with Kelce at several Eras Tour performances in the past, most notably changing the lyrics to “Karma,” her latest song.
The lyrics went from ‘Karma is the guy on the screen / come straight home to me’ to ‘Karma is the guy on the Chiefs / come straight home to me’.
While in London, she also posted a photo of herself, Kelce and William, Prince of Wales, and two of his children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, prompting the Daily Mail to quote: “Royalty all around”.
